Performance Coaching

Whether it’s walking on stage, stepping in front of a camera, leading a classroom, or giving a presentation, successful performance is a balance of skill, preparation, and mindset. I coach musicians, actors, dancers, teachers, and business professionals in the performance aspects of their roles — helping clients build confidence, strengthen mental skills, and feel ready for their moment in the spotlight.

Performance anxiety — also known as stage fright, nerves, or Musicians’ Performance Anxiety (MPA) — is reported to affect nearly all performers at some time. While a healthy amount of nervous energy can give us that performance buzz, overwhelming anxiety can quickly undermine hours of dedicated practice. I offer coaching to help you feel more confident and in control during auditions, concerts, and public speaking — so that adrenaline works with you, not against you.

I bring three decades of international performance and teaching experience, and hold an MSc in Performance Science with distinction from the Royal College of Music. Grounded in both lived experience and academic insight, my approach combines mental skills training with a deep understanding of the emotional and physical demands of performing. This allows me to offer strategies that are personal, practical, and sustainable.

While I’m not a therapist or counsellor, I regularly collaborate with psychotherapists who specialise in working with performers. Where appropriate, I’m happy to refer or work in partnership to ensure the right kind of support is in place.

Sessions are available online or in person, with reduced rates for full-time students and MU or Equity cardholders. If you’re looking for support with your performance challenges, please do get in touch.
