Barnaby Robson is a British musician whose work spans performance, composition, education, and music-based writing & research.
As principal clarinet of the Philharmonia Orchestra, he toured internationally before joining English National Opera in the heart of London’s theatreland. In the studio, his soundtrack credits include The Theory of Everything and the Knives Out trilogy. He has recorded with artists ranging from Harry Styles to Nightwish, and appears on classical albums released by Sony, ASV, Hyperion, Decca, and Orchid Classics.
As a composer and producer, Barnaby has created music for film, television, radio, and the concert hall. Recent production music credits include Agatha Christie’s England and The Traitors, with original scores commissioned by Mammoth Screen, Hat Trick Productions, and Universal.
Barnaby has written for music industry publications, appeared on music podcasts, and served as a judge on BBC Young Musician. He is Professor of Clarinet at the Royal College of Music and was Head of Music Engagement at Queen Mary University of London. Barnaby holds an MSc in Performance Science from the Royal College of Music.
